Tip 37-2013: Upcoming Office Closings

1.  All the Clerk's Offices will be closed on Monday, October 14th for Columbus Day. Any recording that needs to happen before Monday the 14th will need to close early enough on Friday to have time to record. Be sure to check with your local clerk's office to verify when the office stops recording in the afternoon. Any closing not completed on Friday can be recorded on Tuesday, October 15th.

2.  Due to system upgrades, the Albemarle County Clerk's office will stop recording at 11:30 AM on Friday, October 18th and will resume recording at 12:00 noon on Monday, October 21st. Accordingly, any recordings that need to happen the week of October 14th - the 18th should happen by Thursday, October 17th - keep Columbus Day in mind! Otherwise, you should plan to record on the following Tuesday the 22nd. Although the Clerk's Office has announced that they will have a few hours devoted to recordings on both Friday the 18th and Monday the 21st, we should all be prepared to plan ahead in case the system upgrade has glitches or takes longer than anticipated!

3.  Tucker Griffin Barnes will be closed for half a day on Friday, October 18th. We will open for business at 9 AM and will close at 12 noon. We will open again with normal operating hours on Monday, October 21st.
